Description
Discover the estate's 30 hectares of vines, basking in the Medoc sun
Take a detour off the Medoc's famous wine route, and discover the knightly history of Chateau Rauzan-Gassies.
Pass the porch that looks out onto the estate's 30 hectares of sun-drenched vines, discover the elegant courtyard, and bask in the shade of the property's great trees as you wait for the tour to start.
It all begins with the gripping story of the 18th century noble House of Gassies, and its heroic knight Pierre Desmezures de Rauzan. These are the figures that have shaped the vineyard's history, long before it was recognised as a Margaux Second Growth in the Classification of 1855.
The next stage in the story was the 1946 acquisition of the chateau by the Quié family, represented today by Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe.
Visitors are regaled with stories of the chateau's magnificent heritage...
