Château Pouget

MARGAUX

Description

Visitors have been telling the story of Chateau Pouget's wines for over a century

Not only is Château Pouget part of a very select club of 1855 classified wines (Fourth Growth), medals telling of prior rankings still adorn the property's façade. Named after François-Antoine Pouget, whose family worked the vines here for decades, the eponymous chateau also proudly bears the heraldry awarded to it by the Maréchal-Duc de Richelieu in the 18th century. His coat of arms still has pride of place on the estate's bottles. Since 1906, the prestigious estate has been under the ownership of the Guillemet family. Before taking the opportunity to savour the characteristic taste of this pure, traditional Margaux wine, visitors are invited to discover the beautiful 19th century edifice that sits at the entry to the estate. Behind it, 10 hectares of vines bask in the Cantenac sun.
