Description
At this family vineyard, the vines are precious, treasured resources
The whole team at Chateau Paloumey share the same dedicated approach to producing exceptional Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois wine.
"Paloumey" is a Gascon word meaning "place of passage for woodpigeons", which is unsurprising given the sheer amount of these birds that fly over the region as summer draws to a close.
The chateau's history has been something of a rollercoaster ride, as although it dates back to the nineteenth century, its vines were uprooted in the 1950s. Thanks in no small part to the dedication of Martine Cazeneuve, who took the reins in 1989, the property has recovered spectacularly.
The chateau's remarkable renaissance is the result of Madame Cazeneuve's hard work and vision. Since taking over the property, she has overseen an elegant, modern reconstruction of the cellar buildings...
