Time passes slowly, on Rue Jeanne d'Arc in Cussac-Fort-Médoc: the men and women who work the land and the vines at Chateau Micalet dictate its rhythm.
The Fédieu family, who have run the property since 1972, have always accorded the utmost respect to the land, taking a traditionally careful approach to winegrowing. It was no surprise, then, when the chateau converted to organic methods in 2009.
Organic is more than an official certification. It's a state of mind shared by Dominique Fédieu and his team.
Visitors are invited to sate their curiosity, with 7 hectares of vines and a series of outbuildings waiting to be explored.
